Before the Company
The Man Behind the Company
Before there was a company, there was a competitor.
Charlie Trotman spent three seasons as the starting quarterback at Auburn University from 1977 to 1979 — learning what it
means to lead, to prepare, and to perform when it counts. He graduated with a degree in Political Science in 1980 and went on
to earn his law degree from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, passing the bar in 1983.
But the courtroom wasn’t where he wanted to be. Real estate was. After nearly a decade learning under some of the
Southeast’s top developers, Charlie trusted his instincts, bet on himself, and founded The Trotman Company in 1990. The rest
is 35 years of history.
